On the news the other day there was a report about a 15 year old girl who weighed 33 stone; she said her problems began when her father died when she was five. They then shown a photo of her and her dad, how can I put this, both her and her dad were fat, not a little over weight or cubby but fat. So her problem had not started when her father died, it was well on the way when he was alive. They then asked her what a typical day’s food would be; breakfast was 5 packets of chocolate biscuits, crisps and loads of bread and butter. Then mom came on and was asked if she blamed herself for her daughter being over weight. Mom said there was nothing she could do, she was on a low income and had to buy what she could afford. Well I am sorry but I have been on a low income, and I couldn’t afford biscuits, and where does the low income fit into eating 5 packets of biscuits etc instead of two bits of toast? (Yes the mother was fat too). I do get on my high horse about this, you are fat because you put to much into your mouth, it’s not the fault of low income or anything else, (unless you have a real medical problem, then I will let you off). I am fat, hubby is fat, we both eat too much and we know it. Anyway it turned out she wants to go to America to some sort of fat school, and is looking for sponsorship.
I don’t want to sound mean or cruel, but really it’s about time people took responsibility for there own actions, no one force fed them!
and on a lighter note
You Are Disturbingly Profound |
![]() You’re contemplative, thoughtful, and very intense. Taking time to figure out the meaning of life is a priority for you. Because you’re so introspective, you often react in ways that surprise people. No one can really understand how you are on the inside… and that disturbs them. |
Be Happy

Hi Lom I know what you mean, these stories drive me up the flippen wall, it wouldn’t be so bad if they would at least take some responsibility for their weight but no! it’s got to be someone else’s fault…. They give folk with ‘real weight problems who are trying to fix their problems a bad name’ …. arrrgghhh !

there was no fat people came out of Belson or Austvich, not a nice way to put it, as a lot of people there suffed badly at the hands of the Nazi’s.
My own Father was a prisoner from 1940 till 1945 in Stalag XIIB,
He came home a former shadow of himself.
they should have their jaws wired up.

Thanks Kate for the congrats, we didn’t do anything, hubby was working. But it drives me mad when fat people blame everyone but the person putting the food in their mouths.
Steve you are so right.
